Owner, Joleene Williams is passionate about animals. Opening a pet resort had been a dream come true. Having three dogs and one cat, she wanted a place that loved her babies like she did. Her vision was a facility that was transparent and one that the babies are eager to visit. Wags and Whiskers was built with cage-free accommodation, state of the art cleaning system and up-to-date technologies with air purifiers and live cameras.
Your team of pet professionals starts with general manager, Scott Palmer. Scott comes to Wags and Whiskers with 22 years of Animal care experience. He was a Vet Tech for many years at Care Animal in Dothan, AL. Scott is married with two children and four fur babies. Scott and his team are trained to handle all your pet's needs.
Meet our pet professionals that will be loving on your furry friends!
PACCC Certified Owner and Manager
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
IBPSA
The Professional Animal Care Certification Council (PACCC) is on a pet safety mission through the certification of pet care professionals. IBPSA is extremely proud to be a PACCC Gold Sponsor and of our many Members who are now independently certified by PACCC. Indeed, at last count, the majority of PACCC certified professionals were also IBPSA Members. Why? We believe it’s because we offer the educational resources and preparation for successfully passing the intensive PACCC exams.
When choosing a boarding, daycare, grooming or training facility be sure to ask about their certifications.
In 2016, the pet care services industry witnessed the launch of the first professional pet care certifications conducted by an independent, third party.
PACCC
Becoming a CPACP shows your clients, colleagues, and community that your professional qualifications and body of knowledge have met the highest pet care standards established by industry experts and have been certified by an independent testing body.
The in-depth, 125-question CPACP exam, conducted at an approved testing location for a total testing time of 2.5 hours, covers animal care topics including health issues such as administering medications, first aid and CPR, and cleaning and disinfecting. Additional tested health-related knowledge includes fights and bites; documentation; profile, play, behavior, and temperament; and animal management. Tested knowledge of operations includes the safety of animals and the facility (chemical usage, safety requirements); escape (prevention, owner notification, recovery); death; extreme weather, and disaster preparedness. Staff management expectations are also addressed.
When choosing a boarding, daycare, grooming or training facility be sure to ask about their certifications.
